British Standard 476
British Standard 476: The design of a building is critical to consider how it will behave in a fire and ensure that the structural elements do not collapse but instead remain standing or holding back the fire for a specified time. The building regulations define the rules and the structural elements’ fire resistance degree. However, British standard 476 specifies the appropriate fire tests for these structural/material elements and grades the level of fire resistance. The list of current standards is as follows:
